FeedBurner ads on web sites
Sorry for the deluge of FeedBurner-themed posts (what can I say? I work a lot), but this is cool.
Last night we launched a significant extension to our advertising platform that allows us to serve ads on web sites. The first-ever FeedBurner ad on a web site is currently being served at Burning Questions.
Apart from the obvious financial benefits to publishers, advertisers and us (more inventory, more ads, more money) this is cool for a couple of reasons:
Ads are inserted in same space as FeedFlare, so the tens of thousands of publishers already using FeedFlare can run our ads on their site with a single checkbox (more on that soon).
We’re feed-centric, so we can use that metadata to inform ad insertion. (Dick mentions some of the advantages in his post.)
The 300 x 250 Medium Rectangle is significantly cooler than the 468 x 60 banner :-)
That is all. I promise the next post will not be about FeedBurner.
