E-Election?

Thanks to a 'remaindered link' on Kottke's site, I found my way over to the website of politican, author, lecturer, and generally academic guy Gary Hart, who is apparently exploring a run for the presidency in 2004.

It appears we finally have a politican who realizes the power of the web and is attempting to harness this power. Hart's site features a blog, signup for location-tailored email alerts, a link to a Gary Hart meetup, and a great design that gets a lot of content up front and gets right to the point.

With the emergence of blogs and an increasing number of people turning to the web for information, the 2004 elections could prove to be very interesting. Are we finally going to see an election where the web really matters?
