I like Apostle of Hustle
Justin introduced me to Apostle of Hustle a couple of weeks ago, and now I’m really digging their album The National Anthem of Nowhere.
It’s got a lot of things I like, including:
- Internal consistency between songs (but not too much)
- Haunting, discordant harmonies
- Very subtle horn parts on a few tracks
- Latin influence (lead Andrew Whiteman spent some time in Cuba, if you believe Wikipedia)
The album takes a few tracks to get going, but all in all, it’s an impressive and unique piece of work.
The National Anthem of Nowhere is available from iTunes and Amazon, among other retailers. Check it out.
