We found an apartment!
After a short but intense search, Michelle and I found a great apartment in Chicago. It’s literally on Wicker Park (the Park, not the movie) in a great old building owned and managed by a great couple named Sean and George. No pictures yet, but here’s a (Google) map:
There are so many great things about this apartment, but in the interest of time I will give only the highest highlights:
- Over 1100 square feet — used to be a three-bedroom but now only one
- Brand-new kitchen — they are replacing everything before we move in
- Awesome location — roughly two blocks to the Damen/North/Milwaukee intersection and Blue Line stop; about ten blocks to the interstate
- Great owners — Sean and George are real people (my words, not theirs) who have owned the building since 1975; they picked us as much as we picked them
I left out a lot of cool stuff, but you’ll all hear about it see it when you come to visit this summer! (Besides, Michelle can fill in the details if she’s feeling generous.)
